Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

IMPact is an asset management company specialising in listed impact investing strategies, offering investment solutions that combine financial performance and impact measurement.
IMPact has assets under management for €3.5 bn.
IMPact aims to generate a net positive impact for people and the environment through innovative investment strategies that measure the net impact generated by investments and their contribution to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
The 17 SDGs represent the core element of the UN 2030 Agenda and identify universally recognised priority goals to achieve the transition to a more equitable and environmentally sustainable society.
IMPact’s mission is to contribute to allocating capital to businesses that can generate a net positive impact for people and the environment.
Only what can be measured can be managed. For this reason, measuring the net impact generated by investments and their alignment with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement are the key elements that make IMPact’s investment management approach highly innovative.
The integration of net impact analysis into investment strategies is set to become increasingly relevant in identifying the companies best positioned to successfully exploit the major opportunities arising from the transition to a model of economic development that is socially equitable and compatible with the ecological boundaries of the planet.
We believe that now it is the time to re-imagine capitalism, helping promote investment strategies aimed at generating prosperity not only for present but also for future generations.
Listed impact investing
Impact investments are investments made with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return.
Listed impact investing makes it possible to generate a positive impact for people and the planet on a scale significantly larger than the one that can be achieved on unlisted markets.
In practice, the management of listed impact investing products requires a shift from a two-dimensional investment process, focused on optimising the risk-return profile of portfolios, to a three-dimensional investment process, focused on optimising the risk-return-impact profile of managed investment products.
Practices for the systematic adoption of impact investing strategies on listed financial markets are in their early stages of development and IMPact aims to advance and promote them in the Italian asset management industry.

Intentionality of impact
IMPact intentionally pursues a net positive social and environmental impact in its investment strategies.

Measurability of impact
IMPact measures the net impact generated by its investments and actively integrates this dimension of analysis into its investment decision-making processes.

Active impact management
IMPact actively manages the impact performance of its investments with the aim of optimising their risk-return-impact profile.
Measuring impact
The main challenges of listed impact investing are, on the one hand, to intentionally pursue a positive environmental and social impact and, on the other, to consistently and comparably measure the net impact generated by a given portfolio of listed investments while actively managing their impact performance.

Paris Agreement
IMPact measures the alignment of investments with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5° Celsius above pre-industrial levels by 2100 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

SDGs alignment
IMPact, through proprietary methodologies, measures the degree of net alignment of investments to each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The employment impact
IMPact, through proprietary methodologies, measures the contribution of investments to the creation of fair, stable and quality employment opportunities, with a particular focus on equal opportunities for youth and women.

The net impact
The model for quantifying and measuring the net impact of investments adopted by IMPact is based on semantic artificial intelligence technology developed by a Scandinavian start-up partner of IMPact.
This innovative technology makes it possible to estimate the net impact generated by each investment by quantifying the social and environmental costs and benefits generated by businesses.
